Igloo Reader

Ref. i1

Igloo by ExperimentX is an electronic, portable and handy measuring device, operating in combination with PRIMA® Professional in-vitro lateral flow tests. For professional use only

Igloo reader

Igloo is a reader device that can be used for qualitative, semi-quantitative or quantitative measurements of lateral flow diagnostic devices. Thanks to its special technology, this instrument allows to convert the intensity of the test strips into specific ranges of values.

The reader is intended to be used in combination with the appropriate software, Dx Care, available for both MacOS and Windows platforms. Dx Care allows patients data to be processed and saved directly to your computer with standardized results in less than a minute.
Igloo aims to further increase the high standards of accuracy of PRIMA® qualitative and semi-quantitative assays, offering operators and healthcare facilities a faster, more reliable and digital interpretation and storage of results.

Benefit of the test

Fast and standardized result interpretation

Universal platform for Point of Care

Easy transmission of data from Igloo to computer

Results digitalization and data safe storage

Exportable and printable reports

Igloo is aimed at healthcare professionals who intend to analyze large quantities of tests in a quick, accurate and standardized way.

The test is done by measuring of the different colored lines (test and control) on a test strip. The test lines are evaluated either qualitatively by checking whether the test band occurs at all or quantitatively / semi-quantitatively by calculating the color intensity of the test and control lines according to the peak height or the surface area under the peak curve. Both methods can be used to determine the analyte concentration.

  1. Enter the patient data in the Dx Care software on the computer and place the relative chip on the back of the Igloo-cassette adapter;
  2. Run the PRIMA® Professional rapid test and place the test cassette inside the adapter;
  3. Insert the adapter inside the Igloo and start the measurement on Dx Care;
  4. The results appear on the screen in less than 60 seconds.

Depending on the type of test used for the measurement, there may be different ranges of qualitative values (e.g., positive and negative), semi-quantitative (e.g., low, moderate, high) or quantitative (a specific numerical value).
